Like a fresh cup of coffee in the morning that somehow brings satisfaction to my mind and body, there are elements that I find in the natural world that bring me joy, wonder, awe, connection and well-being. Painting is my life’s cup of coffee, creating forms, shapes, colors, and intensities that touch my emotions in ways that I don’t even understand. When I breathe deeply in such a manner that I really feel my breathe, I know that something good is going on, and when I paint openly, without judgment without too much pain, something deep begins to stir within me and I become satisfied. I hope you will find some of these qualities when you first see, and then feel, the works here. Please enjoy them as if they were cups of coffee. -Karen
